Shoulder Information

Your shoulder is the most mobile joint in the human body.  Due to the shoulder's anatomy, most shoulder problems involve the soft tissues, muscles, ligaments and tendons and not your bones.  If you have pain in your shoulder, it could have originated in a variety of different ways. It can result from trauma, like a work or sports injury, shoulder instability due to weakening or imbalances of the muscles surrounding the shoulder, or from wear and tear of the tissues in and around the joint. Arthritic changes can also cause problems with the shoulder and can be the cause of your problems.

At Forsyth Street Orthopaedic, Rehabilitation & Surgery Centers, our doctors will conduct a complete physical examination to determine your range-of-motion, location of your pain, and level of joint instability/stability.    Based on what they find, additional tests may be needed to find root cause of your pain.

To understand more about shoulder injuries and your treatment options, we encourage you to visit our Patient Education section.   After reading all of that information, the next step is to schedule a consultation with one of the specialists at Forsyth Orthopaedics.   Start the process by filling out the form to your right or by calling 478-743-3000.
