Dr. Slappey is a general orthopaedic surgeon. His particular interests include knee, shoulder, sports medicine, arthroscopy, and total joint arthroplasty. He is a partner of Forsyth Street Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation Centers.

Dr. Slappey is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery for Mercer University School of Medicine. Dr. Slappey is one of the few physicians now certified in Orthotripsy shock wave treatment using what is known as the Ossatron.

Dr. Slappey is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons; the Georgia Orthopaedic Society; the Medical Association of Georgia, the Bibb County Medical Society; and the Southern Orthopaedic Association.

Education:

Dr. Slappey earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Georgia Southwestern College in Americus and his Medical Degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He completed his internship and a residency in general surgery and orthopaedics at Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta.
